He'll be one of the top 3 wings chosen. His exact placement depends on WHO picks in what spot.... needs. I can't imagine him lasting to 14 at ALL. He's too good of a worker, locker guy, defender, character, long, athletic, dependable and he ALWAYS finds a way to contribute even when he's not scoring. He's a lottery pick and could be as high as 5th IMO.
They ALL THREE are going to be late in the process. Bennett's late test taking and now Hamstring injury recovery has slowed down his recruiting. Noel's reclassification has slowed his recruiting. Parker never wanted to be a fast recruit.
Obviously, UK won't take em all, but none of the rest has been figured out yet.
Tony is a UK target and there is communication going on.... however, there is almost certainly going to be no movement until his HS bball season is over.
He's not focusing on recruiting at this time at all. He's not planning to visit UK till after his HS season, and there isn't going to be any cutting of his list any time soon either. This is one of those kids who puts it all on hold during his season. Don't look for any LEGITIMATE news on Parker for a month or so. Any reports about him will be fluff and worth of ignoring.....
Guys... ignore all the bullshit that Bazz and UK are not doing well.... or that UCLA is going to be where he goes.
It's all ridiculous.
Bazz has NO IDEA where he's going to go. He's nowhere CLOSE to deciding. He's not even going to try to think about ruling out anyone till spring at the earliest. He's simply collecting info and will decide from there.
UCLA and Adidas are happily telling everyone who will listen that Bazz is gonna go to UCLA.... it's simply them taking advantage of the fact that no other school cares to be seen as "the leader". Honestly, it PROBABLY means that Bazz is least likely to go to UCLA....since UCLA seems to get that, they don't care if Bazz gets pissed that they keep telling people that.... and they deny leaking it when asked... but they ARE the ones leaking it.
This info is from a different source than my post yesterday. I'm more convinced than ever that the UCLA stuff is just nothing but hype. Bazz may go to UCLA...but he may go to ANY school. He's just nowhere near choosing. Any info saying he is "leaning" is just false.
When bad information helps you, you tend not to correct it. I once had a girl mistake me for a former boyfriend...she was telling everyone I was an excellent lover. I never said a word.
Shabazz Muhammad and UK are still very strong. I'd still rather be UK than any other school. I spoke with some people late last night.... The whole UCLA thing is a shoe thing. I'm not saying he WILL DEFINITELY NOT go to UCLA, but all the info coming out of that camp is being sold by the shoe people and UCLA staff. They think it will help them with other recruits.... If some kid things Muhammad is going to UCLA, then they may wish to join him.... the staff at UCLA has told a couple kids in the second tier of players "If you guys will go ahead and commit, it may help push Muhammed over the edge and commit right after you".
At the same time, the other schools in with Muhammad don't really care what the "perception" is at this point. In fact, they don't mind that UCLA is "thought" to be the leader. It means other schools will crap on UCLA more than UK or Duke.
Honestly, my OPINION is that Muhammad wants to be a winner for a year. He's not going to win if he goes to UCLA. He's a smart kid. My money is on Cal on this one.... but that's just my educated opinion.... and Cal's track history....and the fact UK is favored to win the NCAA and will lose their wings.
wildcatknh wrote: Marc, don't mean to hi-jack this thread and change the topic to Muhammad ... but, if this is also the case for Shabazz, just curious if anyone out there in the circles that you run in still considers UCLA to be a 'national stage' type program given their mediocre results the last several years?
workin on that too... a day or two will give me a lot more info on it.....
